Anti-waste Recipe: Banana Bread


  • 3-4 bananas (depending on size)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup sugar (white or brown)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cup white flour
  • 2,3 oz extra dark chocolate chips
  • 3,5 oz shelled walnuts
  • Cinnamon (optional)
  • Salt


Put the peeled bananas and melted butter in a large bowl. Start mixing until you get a puree. Add the baking powder, a pinch of salt, sugar, egg, a teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix all the ingredients. Add the sifted flour, half a teaspoon of cinnamon (if you want), the chopped walnuts and the chocolate chips. Mix with a whisk or a mixer and pour the mixture into our aluminium foil tray. Bake the dessert in a preheated oven at 340° F for about 50/60 minutes. Test the toothpick to check the cooking of your Banana Bread. Once ready, let it cool before serving.
