Anti-waste recipe โ€“ Meatballs with tomato sauce

Ingredients for the meatballs

  • 9 oz minced beef
  • 9 oz minced pork
  • 5 oz stale breadcrumbs
  • ยฝ glass of milk
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan
  • 1 sprig of parsley
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Fry oil

Ingredients for the sauce

  • 1 tomato sauce bottle
  • 1 shallot
  • Evo oil
  • Salt
  • Basil leaves

Directions

Soak the breadcrumbs in milk for about 10 minutes and squeeze it well. Then combine it with the minced meat, adding the eggs, salt, pepper, parsley and chopped garlic. Start mixing and forming balls. Once prepared, fry them in plenty of boiling oil and then set them aside on absorbent paper.

To prepare the sauce, fry the shallot in extra virgin olive oil and pour in the tomato sauce, adding the basil leaves, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat for about 15 minutes. Then, add the meatballs and continue to cook for another 20 minutes, always over low heat.

Serve the meatballs with tomato sauce while still hot and if you have leftovers, reheat them in the oven in our R1G lacquered aluminium container!
