Aosta Valley – Crostata Valdostana Recipe
- 6 oz butter
- 2 cups flour
- 3 eggs + 1 egg yolk
- 1 glass of white wine
- ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese
Sift the flour and mix it with one egg and one egg yolk. Add butter and salt. Knead the dough, cover it with a towel and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
For the filling
Mix in a bowl the remaining eggs and the parmesan cheese. Add the glass of white wine, the salt and the pepper.
Transfer the rolled dough into our Happy Day aluminium foil container and fold up the sides of pastry. Sprinkle on the bottom the Italian cheese fontina and the filling made previously. Bake the Crostata for about 40-45 minutes in the oven – 350F.
