Aosta Valley – Crostata Valdostana Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 oz butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 eggs + 1 egg yolk
  • 1 glass of white wine
  • ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese

Directions

Sift the flour and mix it with one egg and one egg yolk. Add butter and salt. Knead the dough, cover it with a towel and let it rest for about 30 minutes.

For the filling

Mix in a bowl the remaining eggs and the parmesan cheese. Add the glass of white wine, the salt and the pepper.

Baking

Transfer the rolled dough into our Happy Day® aluminium foil container and fold up the sides of pastry. Sprinkle on the bottom the Italian cheese fontina and the filling made previously. Bake the Crostata for about 40-45 minutes in the oven – 350F.
