Basilicata – Easter Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • 5 oz butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 white wine glass
  • 1 lb sweet cheese
  • 3 egg yolks
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • Salt

Directions

Combine flour, butter, wine, 2 eggs and salt until it becomes a pliable dough. Let it rest. In the meanwhile in a bowl mix 3 egg yolks, sweet cheese and salt.

Baking

Roll the dough and divide into two different parts. Put the bigger part in our Happy Day aluminium container and fill it with the stuffed. Cover with the small part and coat the dough with the egg yolk and brush. Pierce pie with fork. Bake it for 45 minutes to 356F.
