United Kingdom – English Plum Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cup flour
- 1 ยฝ cup caster sugar
- Packet of Yeast
- 6 Eggs
- Lemon zest
- 2 oz candied peels
- 2 oz cedar
- 5 oz raisins
- 1 rum tea table
- Vanilla bean
- Salt
- Sugar
Directions
Soak raisins in water, let stand for about 30 minutes, drain and dry them. Beat butter and 1/3 cup of sugar. Meanwhile beat eggs and remaining sugar. Combine two mixtures, add rum, salt and lemon zest. Slowly add sifted flour, yeast and vanilla. Mix until it becomes a homogeneous mixture. Add cedar and raisins.
Baking
Put the mixture into our Folded aluminium container and level the surface. Bake it for about 50/55 minutes at 356F. Test the cake for doneness with a toothpick. Let it rest and serve.
