Italian Villages – Crescionda Recipe


  • 4 eggs
  • 7 oz amaretto
  • 2 cups of room temperature milk
  • 3,5 oz dark chocolate
  • 2,5 oz sugar
  • 1/3 cup of white flour
  • grated lemon zest
  • 1 shot of aniseed or fennel liqueur
  • dark chocolate chips


Mix the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl. Slowly pour in the milk, liqueur and chocolate as well. Mix until you get a homogeneous mixture. Meanwhile, mix the amaretto and flour in another bowl; then add to the liquid mixture. Add the lemon zest and the egg whites previously whipped until stiff. Incorporate them gently with the use of a spatula.
Once all the clots have been removed, pour the mixture into our Happy Day aluminum container and bake for about an hour at 356 ยฐ F. Once baked, let the Crescionda cool and serve with dark chocolate chips.
