Lazio – Pangiallo Recipe
Ingredients
- 200 gr almonds
- 200 g walnuts
- 200 gr hazelnuts
- 300 gr raisins
- 200 gr pine nuts
- 100 gr candies
- 1 ยฝ cup flour
- ยพ cup honey
- 5 oz chopped dark chocolate
- 1 orange zest
- 1 lemon zest
Frosting
- ยผ cup flour
- Saffron
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Direction
Soak raisins in water for about 30 minutes. Heat in a pot honey, orange and lemon zest. Crush almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts and pine nuts. Add candies, soaked raisins, dark chocolate. Mix honey and flour. ย Mix all the ingredients. Knead the dough and cut it in different parts. Let them rest for about 2 hours.

Baking
ย Make frosting heating flour, saffron, oil and water. Brush the parts of Pangiallo and bake them at 356F for about 40 minutes.
