Microwave – Strudel Recipe

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 6 Sheets filo pastry
  • 2 yellow apples
  • 1/4 golden caster sugar
  • 1 tbsp walnuts, toasted and roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup sultanas
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • ½ Lemon, juiced

For the topping

  • 1 tsp icing sugar
  • 1 tsp milk

Directions

Peel and slice the apples. Place them in a bowl and add golden caster sugar and lemon juice. Toss together. After 10 minutes, add walnuts, cinnamon and sultanas. Mix all the ingredients.

Place three sheets of filo pastry on a lacquered Smoothwall and brush with melted butter. Overlap the 2nd sheet onto the 1st sheet by 5-6 cm along the long edge and repeat with the 3rd sheet overlapping the second. Place three more sheets of filo on top and follow the previously suggestions. Spread the apple filling and the breadcrumbs in the centre of the filo and, then gently turn the sheets over so that the strudel is sealed.

Baking

Brush the Strudel with milk and sprinkle it with icing sugar. Bake it for about 13/15 minutes in your microwave oven with grill function at 600W. Let it cool and serve. If you want to receive more recipes, please subscribe to our Newsletter!
