Portugal – Recipe Queijadas de Sintra
For the Dough
- 1 cup white flour
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- ยฝ cup warm water
- Salt
For the Filling
- 2 cups fresh cheese
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon flour
- ยฝ teaspoon potato starch
- ยฝ teaspoon cinnamon
- Salt
Directions
Knead the flour with the melted butter together with the warm water, the salt and 1 egg until it is an even consistency. Cover the dough with a wet towel for about 12 hours.
In a bowl, mix the fresh cheese, sugar, egg yolks, flour, potato starch, salt and cinnamon well.
Baking
Use a roller to roll the dough very thinly and cut into 6 circular formed shapes. Place the 6 shapes inside our Flan containers. Fill with the cheese mixture. Cook the Queijadas in a pre-heated oven at 356F ยฐ for 20 minutes. To receive more recipes, please subscribe to our Newsletter!
