Traditional Oven – Rustic Buns Recipe


  • 5 cups white flour
  • 0,5 oz fresh yeast
  • 1 tablespoon evo oil
  • 2,5 oz grated cheese
  • 7 oz diced bacon
  • 7 oz diced salami
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Evo oil to brush the buns
  • Salt


Put flour, water, grated cheese, oil and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Start kneading vigorously with your hands or use a mixer and then add the yeast. Mix the ingredients, add the bacon and salami. Continue to work everything until you get a homogeneous dough. Cover it with cling film and let it rise for at least an hour in a bowl in the oven with the light on, covered with a dry cloth.


Once the rising is over, knead the dough again for 5 minutes and divide it into many small loaves (about 13/14). Place them on a pan with oven paper and leave them for another hour. Then, put the loaves in our aluminium trays and brush them with extra virgin olive oil. Bake them in a preheated oven at 356Β° F for about 25/30 minutes. Wait for them to cool down and your rustic buns will beΒ ready to be eaten immediately or to be enjoyed outside the home.
