Trentino Alto Adige – Zelten Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 9 oz dried figs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 oz butter
- 2 oz nuts
- 2 oz raisins
- 2 oz pine nuts
- 2 oz peeled almonds
- 2 oz hazelnut
- 3 eggs
- 1 glass of water
- 2 teaspoons of Yeast
- Rum or grappa shot
Direction
Cut dried fruits, raisins and nuts. Let them marinate in rum or grappa for at least 1 hour.  Mix egg yolks and ½ cup of sugar. Add flour and yeast. In the meantime melt butter in a large bowl and gradually add hot water. Mix butter, flour and dried fruits. Beat the albumens and mix them with ½ cup of sugar. Amalgamate all ingredients.
Baking
Put the dough in our Happy Day aluminium tray. Cover the top with nuts, almonds and pine nuts. Add a thin drizzle of egg yolk and bake it for about 90 minutes at 320F.
