Trentino Alto Adige – Zelten Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 9 oz dried figs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 oz butter
- 2 oz nuts
- 2 oz raisins
- 2 oz pine nuts
- 2 oz peeled almonds
- 2 oz hazelnut
- 3 eggs
- 1 glass of water
- 2 teaspoons of Yeast
- Rum or grappa shot
Direction
Cut dried fruits, raisins and nuts. Let them marinate in rum or grappa for at least 1 hour. ย Mix egg yolks and ยฝ cup of sugar. Add flour and yeast. In the meantime melt butter in a large bowl and gradually add hot water. Mix butter, flour and dried fruits. Beat the albumens and mix them with ยฝ cup of sugar. Amalgamate all ingredients.
Baking
Put the dough in our Happy Day aluminium tray. Cover the top with nuts, almonds and pine nuts. Add a thin drizzle of egg yolk and bake it for about 90 minutes at 320F.
