Umbria – Bustrengolo Recipe
- 1 cup maize flour
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 oz walnuts
- 2 oz dried grapes
- 1⁄4 cup grappa
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 apple
- Powdered sugar
Boil water with salt. Combine the raisins and grappa and let stand until most of the grappa has been absorbed. Chop walnuts, cut apple into slices and sprinkled with lemon juice. Combine maize flour, water and 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Continue mixing for about 15 min and add dried raisins, walnuts, sugar and apple slices.
Put the dough in our Happy Day aluminium tray. Preheat the oven to 350F for about 35 minutes. Cover the top with powdered sugar and put in the oven again for about 5 minutes. Let cool and serve it
