Contital and Cortina 2021 against food waste

During Alpine World Ski Championships, Contital supported the Cortina 2021 Foundation by joining Food for Good, a project carried out by Banco Alimentare and Equovento onlus, and Federcongressi&eventi Italian meeting industry association, that collects uneaten food during any type of event – sporting, corporate, musical -.

To transport meals to charities such as foster homes, soup kitchens for the pour and refugee centers, Contital sent aluminium containers with lids to facilitate the transport of food inside special thermoboxes.

The company, in first line against food waste, decided to join the project to emphasize the importance of considering uneaten food, not as a problem to be disposed of but as a real resource seen from a circular economy perspective.

Some Useful Numbers

In the first days of the World Cup, the volunteers collected: 114 portions of first courses, 246 portions of main courses, 96 portions of side dishes, 130 portions of dessert, 12 kg of salad and 10 kg of bread.
